A MESSAGE FROM THE SECRETARY GENERAL
The last three months have flown by and have included three Grade 3 International Challenge tournaments in Australia and New Zealand, several coach courses including a BWF Level 2 and a combined BWF Level 1 and Disability course. We have had four countries represented at the BWF World Junior Championships, player development camps in Thailand and players playing in a variety of international tournaments.
2025 is shaping up to be another busy year with the VICTOR Oceania Championships that includes the Mixed Team and Individual events as well as the u15 Pacific Invitation Training Camp and Team Challenge. These are being played at Badminton North Harbour, Auckland, New Zealand. We are also very excited to be taking the VICTOR Oceania Junior Championships to the beautiful Northern Mariana Islands in June.
Our staff have recently visited Vanuatu as they work towards joining us as a Member in 2025. Our thoughts and best wishes are with the people of Vanuatu following the earthquake earlier this week.
Badminton Oceania Executive Board and Staff thanks everyone for their continued drive and enthusiasm to grow our wonderful sport in the region and wish the badminton community across all of our 17 Member Associations a very Merry Christmas.

Coming from soccer and track and field, Genelyn found badminton somewhat by chance; through her group of friends.
She now plays every day in Saipan, Northern Marianas Islands. During the summer, she plays as much as she can with friends. “I train three days a week and play on Saturdays. I also play for the Northern Marianas national junior team and represented them at the U17 Pacific Team Challenge at the Oceania Championships and the BWF World Junior Championships 2024 in Nanchang.”

Some were even lucky enough to be training in the same venue as Kunlavut Vitidsarn and Ratchanok Intanon and made the most of the photo opportunity.
